Monthly Competitions
Most months throughout the year we have a club competition based on a specific topic or theme. All paid club members can participate and vote. Points are given when you participate and win in the monthly competitions. Below are our topics for the year and information on how to submit photographs.

Dimensions
When you export your image, it must be no larger than 1920 x 1080 pixels. This can be set in whatever editing tool you are using.
Other Settings
Set Color Space to SRGB, you may with to Sharpen for Screen in LR to optimize for the projector, and save as a JPEG.
Monthly Competition Rules
When we have less than 5 images in a category, awards are given based on this process:

4 Images Only award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

3 Images Only award 1st and 2
-
2 Images Only award 1st
-
1 Image Award 1st if their average score is above 3.0
When we have ties:
-
If total score is equal, we count # of 5’s, then 4’s, and so on.

The image with the most gets that place and the image with the least moves to the position behind that (whether it’s the next place or no ribbon)

Competition Process
We have a new competition process in 2025.
All paid members of CCC will receive an email with a link to submit your photos for each contest.
You may submit up to 2 submissions in each monthly contest.
Images must be received by 11:59PM Sunday evening before the competition. Your dues must be paid to participate.
On Monday, a new email with a link to vote on each category will also be sent to all paid members. You must vote by Wednesday evening at 10:00pm of that week.
All submissions and winners will be shown at the Thursday CCC meeting.
NOTE: If you don't receive an email confirming your submission, your photo was not submitted!
Make sure you hit the big purple "Submit" button at the bottom of the submission form. Reach out if you have issues submitting.
File Name Submissions
Your competition files need to to use the following naming convention:
<photographer name>-<competition class>-<type>– #
Example: “Bob Smith–Adv–Color–1.jpg”
If you're submitting 2 photos, the second would be:
Bob Smith-Adv-BW-2.jpg

Our club competitions culminate in an annual print show competition and exhibition. These are hosted in one of our local art facilities downtown and judged by professional photographers outside the club.

Print Show Categories
We have several categories each year, allowing for many opportunities to participate in an area of interest or specialty. There is an annual Wild Card category as well. For a complete list, click the link below.

Print Show Eligibility
In order to participate in the Annual Print Show, you must have received a certain number of points based on participation in meetings and events, placing in the monthly competitions and other activities. All details of eiligibilty are available at the link below.

Print Show Awards
The Print Show is judged by judges outside the Club membership. Club Choice Awards are voted on by club members who attend the Print Show Competition. More details are listed in the link below.
SIZE OF PRINTS
The print may be matted in any color and the overall area of the mat (including the picture) shall not be more than 384 square inches (Example: 16 x 24 inches) with the longest dimension being not more than 36 inches. There is no minimum size. The print must be framed in a simple metal frame of any color and must have sturdy wire on the back to allow hanging. All prints must be behind glass.
